The Culture of Concern

The culture of concern is here and growing stronger every day. People are taking up arms – and fingers (on the keyboard – that is!) and being heard.
There was the hippie generation, the love generation, the baby boomer generation, generation X, and so many others. There was the drug culture, the underground culture, the culture of rebellion and – that’s right – so many others.
Welcome the Culture of Concern. Ushered in by greenhouse gases, global warming, polluted rivers and overhanging smog clouds, this mindset has turned in a different direction then those that came before; facing the carelessness of generations and accepting the responsibility of cleaning up their mess.
The twentieth century was blinded by ambition and parents everywhere toiled their ‘fingers to the bone’ for a better life for their children. Those children, comfortable with that abundance, likewise gave their offspring even greater ease of living, pampered with conveniences and luxuries history couldn’t even imagine.
Proving that the true nature of the human spirit is indeed noble, this pampered generation took their inheritance of abuse of nature and got busy cleaning up the mess.
Voices spoke out and joined together. The internet, brokering avenues of indulgence and resource instantly became the medium of choice for those voices – of which I am proud to be one.
The web is full of “Green” resources, ways and means. From grant programs, to retail business, to food, to building and everything in between there is a green alternative: A voice of concern engaged in that avenue of living.
Green Maven is a search engine designed specifically for finding those green resources.
Hugg is a user reviewed blog of green products
Leafy Green is also a site where you can find products reviewed by concerned individuals.

Suggestion: Before you Google your next need, first try the “Green Web.” Maybe, just maybe you will find an alternative that showed some concern rather than selfish fulfillment and possibly even left a mess behind somewhere.
